My Favorite: Summer Blush, Bronzer, Lipgloss, and Mascara

Hello lovelies!

As you all know, now that summertime is here, you're looking for a look that make you glowy but that's quick and easy and no fuss. Well, I'm pretty sure I can deliver on that description!

The key elements to a quick and easy look are a dash of blush and bronzer to give color to that wintry face, and a swipe of lipgloss and mascara to make you look fresh and revived. Here are some of my absolute favorite products this summer, (all of which are totally heat-proof and long lasting!)

Sparkle Approved Best Summer Blush: Laura Geller Blush-N-Brighten in Pink Grapefruit ($27)

This pinky fruity blush is long lasting and durable, and adds a bronzing glow to your cheeks. :)

Sparkle Approved Best Summer Bronzer: Model Co Bronze Shimmer Pressed Bronzing Powder ($24)

This bronzer adds a glow to your face while the shimmering dust gives you a sun-kissed ethereal look. :)

Sparkle Approved Best Summer Lipgloss: Buxom Full-On Lip Cream in Rose Julep ($19)

Imagine a perfect swirl of pink and peach with a hint of coral, all perfectly blended together in a non-sticky, smooth cream. My favorite part about this is it's cooling effect. It's like applying peppermint to your lips, it has a similar cooling menthol effect like Burt's Bees lip balm. Plus, it's super moisturizing and heat durable.

Sparkle Approved Best Summer Mascara: Avon Mega Effects Mascara ($10)

I'm not gonna lie, this product definitely has a learning curve. What with the funky wand that bends, the liquidy formula, I honestly wasn't sure if I was going to like this or not. But I fell in love with it! It doesn't clump, and perfectly coats each lash, and dries into a hard outer coat to keep your lashes in place all day! It is very liquidy, and the first few times you use it, it will get all over you. But once you get the hang of it, it is AMAZING. I actually had not one, not two, but three people ask me if I was wearing fake eyelashes when I wore this! Totally flawless summer look.

Hope you enjoyed! Have a great summer my Sparkles!

Simple DIY Face Mask

Here's an awesome recipe for a DIY facial mask! It's super moisturizing and all of the ingredients are all natural and healthy for your skin. Super replenishing and good for winter and/or dryer climates. :)

You will need:

1/2 Avocado
2 Tablespoons Coconut Oil

2 Tablespoons Honey

Combine all ingredients together in a bowl and mash with a fork, then blend onto face with fingertips or a brush. Allow to set for five minutes, then gently rinse off with warm water.

Have a fabulous day my sparkles!

Finding The Perfect Lipstick

Once upon a time there was a girl, and she was a lipstick fanatic. Lipstick after lipstick she tried, until she finally found the one. Avon Anew Youth Awakening lipstick in the flawless fruity shade of Blushing Bride. But then one day, the lipstick ran out. She went online, desperately hopping around from website to website, when suddenly a darkness fell upon the land - The lipstick...

Was no longer available for sale.

Desperate, she searched high and low to find colors that were similar, but no others compared. All drugstore lipsticks were no match. Even Yves Saint Laurent left her looking for answers, lost in the dust. Would she ever find her perfect lipstick again?!!

Okay, so enough with the suspense, I'll stop torturing you all now. I know that many of you (like me) fell in love with Avon's Anew Youth Awakening lipstick in the shade of Blushing Bride, and were devastated when it disappeared from the shelves. But have no fear! Savvy is here! Here's a collection of lipsticks I've found that are similar to the famed Blushing Bride lipstick:

1. Chanel Rouge Coco Shine Hydrating Sheer Lipstick in 97 Desinvolte ($36 at Chanel.com)
Chanel Makeup ROUGE COCO SHINE HYDRATING SHEER LIPSHINE (97 DÉSINVOLTE)

2. Rouge Dior Baume in 558 Lili ($35 Dior.com)

3. Lancome Shine Lover Lipstick in Twisted Beige ($25 at Lancome-USA.com)

My Everyday Makeup Look (about 60% drugstore)

1. Moisturizer - Aveeno Positively Radiant Daily Moisturizer Broad Spectrum SPF 15 ($12.19 at Target.com)

This foundation I use everyday, day and night. It doesn't clog pores and protects from the elements with SPF 15, and it gives skin a healthy natural look.

2. Foundation - L'Oreal True Match Lumi in shade Porcelain/ Light Ivory ($12.95 at lorealparisusa.com)

This is my go to foundation. Hands down. When I first started wearing makeup a few years ago, I kind of hopped around from foundation to foundation, not really finding anything that worked good for my combination skin. Then one day, one rainy day while on a trip to Texas, I stumbled upon this foundation that promised luminous skin. It's been my favorite ever since, and I rarely leave the house without it (I actually wear it around the house, that's how much I love it) It never clogs my pores, and it works like a charm.

3. Concealer - Makeup Forever Full Cover Concealer ($32.00 at Sephora.com)

This concealer covers like no other concealer I have ever tried. It blends nicely, but the thick and pigmented formula covers up any blemishes, and can be used to brighten the under eye area as well as line lips.

4. Blush - ELF Hd Blush in shade Superstar ($3 at Walmart.com)

My favorite cream blush, it tops every high end blush I've tried. The formula is creamy and long lasting, and gives cheeks that just-pinched glow! :)

5. Highlighter - Benefit High Beam ($26 at BenefitCosmetics.com)

I use this ALL THE TIME. I bought it about a year ago and my bottle is almost used up because I didn't have the self control to ration it at the beginning ;)

4. Mascara - Dior Addict It Lash ($27.50 at Dior.com)

My eyelashes are naturally black, and already pretty voluminous, so for the longest time I had been searching for a mascara that lengthened and coated my lashes, but without getting all thick and gross. I found the answer in this creative black bottle. The formula is not dry, not wet, and not clumpy. It doesn't even look like you're wearing mascara! (Which I mean in a good way) it coats the lashes so perfectly, it looks like your lashes are just super duper ooper long and have been practically dyed black! It doesn't give the cakey texture that most mascaras do. I. LOVE. IT.

5. Lips - Neutrogena Tinted Lip Balm with SPF 20 in shade Sunny Berry ($9 at Neutrogena.com)

Revitalizing Lip Balm SPF 20
This is my favorite tinted lip balm IN THE UNIVERSE. I love it, it's cheap, and it offers fabulous pigment. It can easily be compared to the high end Sugar balms.

Have a wonderful day my Sparkles! I hope to be posting again next Sunday with some of my best makeup hacks! - Love, Savvy Rose

My Favorite Drugstore... Facial Scrub

L'Oreal Paris 360 Scrub

Alt Tag Loreal Paris

First Impressions

With all honesty, I bought this product on a whim. I had time to kill, it was cheap, I had some money, it looked unique, and in the end I walked out of Walmart with a pretty full basket of drugstore products that I didn't really need. I was actually pretty excited to try this because the idea of the antibacterial silicone brush sounded pretty unique, and I know in department stores they can cost upwards of $100. This product on the other hand, was only $5.

First Time Using

I did exactly what the directions told me, wetting the brush and squirting on a blob of product. (After getting over the optical illusion that comes with wetting the brush) and instantly I noticed that the product smelled like mangoes. I personally LOVE the smell of mangoes, so that was a plus for me. But I wouldn't recommend it to people who are sensitive to smells. As I swirled it onto my face, I completely fell in love with the brush. The soft bristles massaged and exfoliated, and I felt like my face was actually getting clean. I was instantly in love with this product.

Over The Next Two Weeks

I used it everyday for the next two weeks. You got it! EVERY. DAY. The formula was gentle enough to use on my sensitive skin on a daily basis, and I just loved it! My skin never got irritated, and it was soft and glowing overtime. In the end, I would officially dub this my ALL TIME FAVORITE drug store scrub! I completely fell in love!

Trending Now: Bright Eyes and Neutral Face

How To Rock: Lavender Eyeshadow

Here's How:

Start with a stay-all-day primer, like Urban Decay's Primer Potion ($20 at ulta.com) then take a nice creamy shade of purple (try Urban Decay's eyeshadow in shade ACDC) and gently dust it across the lid and into the crease with an eyeshadow brush. Then take your highlighter, or a cream-colored eyeshadow and dust it across the brow bone. Finish off with a rich purple eyeliner on the top lashline and on the outer corners of the bottom lashline, followed by mascara. Pair with a nude lip and a subtle blush. (For a more dramatic look, try sweeping a bit of gold into the crease)
